Yesterday was the birthday of Republic of China (R.O.C.), observed as a holiday in Taiwan in honor of Double Tenth Day on October 10th. In the morning, many citizens and tourists were collecting in front of the Presidential Office Building to participate the National Day ceremony, national anthem singing and many kinds of performance. The President Tsai Ing-wen delivered a speech at around 10:30 in terms of “Better Taiwan”, expecting that all Taiwanese “Work together better in 2017” as an objective (17 and together in Chinese are homonym). The design concept for this national day event was based on the ka-ji bag, a traditional grocery bag used popularly before 1980s, “woven together” all red, green and blue-strip, symbolizing the united spirit of Taiwanese in facing challenges to develop a better future for Taiwan. For the finale, the air force’s Thunder Tiger Aerobatics Team piloted jet planes from Hsinchu to at midday. They created smoke ribbons, flowing overhead the platform in the colors of the national flag (blue sky, white sun and red blooding ground) as a perfect ending of this year’s National Day festivities. Taiwan, go, go, go!
歡慶中華民國一O六年生日 (2017.10.11)
昨天是中華民國建國一零六年，十月十日這天全臺放假一天，一早在總統府前有國慶典禮、唱國歌及多種展演活動，吸引附近居民和許多旅客前往參與。現任總統蔡英文女士在十點半左右發表演說，以「更好的臺灣」為主題，期望國人能「2017，一起更好」。如同今年國慶象徵物「茄芷袋」的設計理念，紅綠藍條紋交織再一起，表示臺灣團結一心共創未來。最後，空軍雷虎隊自新竹駕機，噴放出藍、白、紅三色煙霧，代表著中華民國國旗—青天、白日、滿地紅的意義，在中午十二點通過典禮台上空，為這次國慶典禮畫下完美的句點。臺灣加油！
Celebración del Día Nacional de Taiwán - 106 años de edad (11 de octubre de 2017)
Ayer fue el cumpleaños de la República de China, observado como un día de fiesta en Taiwán en honor de Double Tenth Day en 10 de octubre. Por la mañana, muchos ciudadanos y turistas se estaban reuniendo frente al edificio de la oficina presidencial para participar en la ceremonia del Día Nacional, el canto del himno nacional y muchos tipos de actuaciones. La Presidente Ing-wen Tsai pronunció un discurso alrededor de las 10.30 en términos de "Mejor Taiwán", y esperó que todos los taiwaneses "trabajen juntos mejor en 2017" como objetivo (17 y juntos en chino se pronuncian casi mismo homónimo). El concepto de diseño de este evento nacional se basó en la bolsa ka-ji, una bolsa tradicional usada antes de los años 80, tejida por rayas roja, verde y azul. Ésta se simboliza el espíritu unido de los taiwaneses que afrontan los retos de desarrollar un futuro mejor para Taiwán. Finalmente, el equipo Thunder Tiger Aerobatics pilotó aviones de reacción de Hsinchu a mediodía. Los pilotos volaron por encima de la plataforma, y crearon cintas de humo por los colores de la bandera nacional (cielo azul, sol blanco y tierra de sangre roja) como un final perfecto de las festividades del Día Nacional de este año. ¡Venga, Taiwán!
