I have been in the Dominican Republic for two months, and we participate in the rapid testing of residual pesticides. The local packers often bring us the vegetables for us to analyze, while giving us the opportunity to meet many oriental vegetables here.

He estado en la Rep. Dominicana dos meses, y participamos en el trabajo de ensayo rápido de plaguicidas residuales. Las empacadoras locales muchas veces nos trajen los vegetales para que los analizemos, mientras nos dan la oportunidad de conocer muchos vegetales orientales acá.

In the Dominican Republic, oriental vegetables indicate the vegetables that come from China, India, Japan and the other Eastern countries. Since 1978, the planned planting of these vegetables began, and then the important agricultural chain of export to North America and the European Union was formed. [1]

在多明尼加，「東方蔬菜」是指源自中國、印度、日本等東方國家的蔬菜。1978年，多國開始計畫性種植東方蔬菜，形成外銷北美、歐盟重要的農業生產鏈。[1]

En la Rep. Dominicana, los vegetales orientales se indican las verduras que vienen de China, India, Japón y los demás países del Oriente. Desde el año 1978, se inició la plantación prevista de estas hortalizas, y luego se formó la cadena agrícola importante de exportación a la Norteamérica y a la Union Europa. [1]

The Dominican Republic obtained 10 million US dollars as the export value of oriental vegetables in 2001, and 5 years later it rose to 30 million. It has an average of 70 million from the year 2011. Currently more than 40 thousand people take part in this chain of cultivation, packaging and promotion. They are found in the 14 provinces, and there are 1500 professional producers in total. [1][2][3]

多明尼加於2001年東方蔬菜的出口產值僅一千萬美元，五年間上升到三千萬，2011年之後每年皆有出口產值七千萬。目前，多國超過四萬人投入這個生產、包裝、運銷的產業鏈，分布於全國14省，總共有1500戶專業生產者參與其中。[1][2][3]

La Rep. Dominicana consiguió 10 millones dólares estadounidenses como el valor de exportación de vegetales orientales en 2001, y 5 años después subió a 30 millones. Tiene en promedio unos 70 millones a partir del año 2011. Actualmente más de 40 mil personas toman parte en esta cadena de cultivo, de empaque y de promoción. Se encuentran en las 14 provincias, y hay 1500 productores profecionales en total. [1][2][3]

    Three provinces with the highest production of oriental vegetables en Dominican Republic

Most of the production of oriental vegetables is La Vega province (49.5%), especially in the communities of Sabaneta, Rancho Viejo, Jima, La Cabuyas, Ranchito, Sabana Rey and Rincón. There is a third of the number of oriental vegetable exporters. The cultivation area is more than 700 hectares. [2][3]

拉維加省(La Vega)是多國東方蔬菜的生產重鎮，有多國約三分之一的東方蔬果外銷商，約占全部東方蔬果生產總值的49.5%。當地東方蔬果的生產總面積超過700公頃，分布於拉維加的Sabaneta、Rancho Viejo、Jima、La Cabuyas、Ranchito、Sabana Rey及Rincón。[2][3]

La mayor parte de la producción de los vegetales orientales se encuentra la provincia La Vega (49,5%), especialmente en las comunidades de Sabaneta, Rancho Viejo, Jima, La Cabuyas, Ranchito, Sabana Rey y Rincón. Se cuenta un tercer de la cantidad de exportadores de vegetales orientales. La superficie de cultivo es más de 700 hectáreas. [2][3]
